Here's a masterpiece following the Tallgeese custom by singlemedia and I'd say he's owning!! Haha! The color is just but right for a mobile suit - very realistic.. I have never seen a Rick Dias MS this stunning - impressive details on those thrusters, back cannons, the rifle, even the body and the decals were top notch!! It really deserves to be featured in Gunday Guy.

... and there you go for singlemedia's Rick Dias GHOST! I wouldn't wonder why it got first place in the rankings! Hehehe. Congrats bro ground_crashed!! Nice one! :)

singlemedia's customized Tallgeese

This is the first time that I was overwhelmed by a Tallgeese mod. Well, I'm really a fan of the Wing series but that's not the reason why this kit catched my attention, it's actually its paintjob and as well as the decals applied to it. I say he really pulled this off quiet well. It's simple and really not far from the original mobile suit. Here's the pictures of singlemedia's Tallgeese.

Hi guys!! It's been a while now that I really haven't touched my blog. Sorry for that.. It's just that I've been busy lately.

I'll find time to update the blog of mine such as to the recent events I had been to (relating to Gunpla), the new recruits (1/6 militaries of star wars, military, and iron man hauls), and as well as feature my fellow Cebuano master modeler- groundcrashed... or otherwise known as singlemedia (on international forums such as zeroG).

Finally!! Gunpla Addiction Cebu has been organized and recently assigned officers to keep the community alive and as well as in order. We also planned for certain activities in order to grow and first off is to help a friend who recently opened his toy store/ shop in Cebu- Sir Francis of Next Star.

These were the items for raffle during the said event.

I will be posting more pictures of the said event though.. and I don't know if some of you recognize the works of singlemedia. I'll be featuring his works during the future updates and to identify a few:

Hi guys, I never realized that I'm getting past the 10,000 page views until my last post. I'm really happy with the thought that people are visiting this page and thank you so much!! I'll be adding reviews later on with some of the toy lines I'm in... especially on the ones that I have. Right now, I'm still organizing my posts even with the busy schedule.

On a roll? nah.. I actually didn't buy this but got it through a trade. The figure looks great though but I'd say the crazy dummy has an edge compared to this... I guess in terms of the accessories. Hehehe..

My Very First 1/6 Military Figure

Hi guys!! It's been a while and I do apologize for not updating my blog due to a busy schedule. I'm really happy to see that there are a number of persons viewing my blog. Thank you so much! :)

With the long break I had with my Gundam and Macross collection, I found myself craving for some 1/6 figures. Yes, that's the new line that I am into right now and which is killing my wallet. Hahaha. This started with the Iron Man fever that I got after knowing that my 1/48 Macross collection is about to be completed. Although, I didn't grab all those reissues and variants that were released for the 1/48 scale, just one valkyrie for each kind is enough for me.

One thing that's true about me is that- I have the tendency to complete the particular line for my collection. With Gundams, it is very much impossible for me to complete it since there are a lot of Gundams being ruled out or released by Bandai... even sorting it out to just 1/100, MG, NG, or what- it's just way too many for my cabinet. If I focus on PGs alone, then it's going to be way too off with my budget as well... Hahaha..

So I just streamlined a few of my Gundam collects (never for my Macross) and then focused on the newly found interest. At first, my eyes were set on Iron Man... then to the troopers released by Sideshow/ Hot Toys (Militaries of Star Wars). These two lines are never far from my previous collection since my interest is mainly on mechs or robots.

Just recently, I got fascinated on how accurate the head sculpts were for some 1/6 figures. Then I started thinking of building my own military on woodland and desert uniforms.

So I prioritized the head sculpts first and got myself Sean Connery and Jason Statham's HS. Sean is my old time favourite and Jason at present.

... and for the first 1/6 haul- it's Crazy Dummy's MK46 MOD 1 Gunner, U.S. Navy Seal Team 3.

out of the box he goes!! whew... it took me 4 long hours to assemble this thing.. I never expected no manuals inside the box. LOL - but the experience was fun, I had a great time putting him up.

My 1/100 MG Aile Strike Gundam

I pretty much like this kit due to its inner frame... which is the advantage I see on all of the Gundam Seed kits of the master grade line. This kit was simply applied with panel lines and as well as some decals and then flat coated... there's really nothing much done but after seeing the poseability of the kit, I'm thinking about getting the perfect grade of it due to the details it provides and as well as the size of it.

So here's aile strike with the novice manual shots I've taken...

the white-blue-red color combo is very common for main gundam mechs in whatever Gundam series you'll be watching.. Hehehe

**Sigh** Now I learned manual focus isn't a friend of mine.. tsk tsk.. I still got a long way to go to enhance this skill.. Anyways, thanks for the visit guys!!

My 1/100 MG Gundam Destiny

Hi guys, just wanted to share to you some pics of my Gundam Destiny. I'm planning to get a tripod one of these days, the blur is messing me up... my arms just won't stop shaking! grrr..

What I love about this is the gold and silver touch for the inner frames... This is one of the bad-ass kits on my disposal.

If you've noticed, this is the MG Destiny EB kit. The only missing piece is its wings effect part. That's all for now... I'm really not getting used this and I might just get a tripod in the future... hmm.. Thanks for viewing guys!! :)

Sengoku Basara Request!!

For once, I considered myself lousy in the field of History. Back then during the school days, I often get bored with the discussions and tends to wander off during classes- but that doesn't mean that it never amaze me... it just that most of the times I don't see myself inclined to it. I still remember during class participation wherein I force myself to memorize the things due to the lack of interest on the subject. There was no fun to it and eventually, all those things just got lost as time passes. I thought that was true to all forms of "History" until I get to encounter the Warring States of the Japanese History.

Maybe I got into this whole thing when I started watching Samurai X and as well as movies with superb battle scenes such as Braveheart, Last Samurai, In the Name of the King, Narnia, King Arthur, Lord of the Rings, and the like. It's just amazing to see warriors go head to head with one another, though I know that life during those times was never easy. I just admire their courage.

My interest on Japanese History even went overboard when I started playing Kessen. I just found the story and its strategy top notch, not to mention how the characters are dressed with their wicked armors. After finishing the game, I went on with Kessen 3 and Nobunaga's Ambition.

I was lucky to come across the anime, Sengoku Basara, last year and now have finished viewing both their 2 seasons and am just awaiting for the movie version this year.

I was also happy to see that Revoltech has created the following characters such as Date Masamune, Sanada Yukimura, Mori Motonari, Motochika Chosokabe, Tokugawa Ieyasu, and Ishida Mitsunari. After knowing this, I made my purchase right away to complete all six regular versions from Revoltech but I am hoping they would still continue and release the other characters in the series...

My purchase last year. Revoltechs Mitsunari Ishida, Date Masamune, Yuki Sanada, Ieyasu Tokugawa, Motonari Mori, and Chosokabe Motochika.

I hope Revoltech Management would hear me out and release figures for the following as well:

I just decided on the math-ups though but it would really be great if revoltech would release these figures in the future. I would be so happy to complete them all, if so... just as I completed the regular releases for Sengoku Basara.

Otaku Fest 2011 part 1

I was really lucky that my vacation leave was approved even if it's just for a day since I was able to attend the Otaku Fest for 2011. It was a fun experience to have watched cosplayers rally the UP grounds. I never expected that the event would fall on a Febuary since last 2009, the event was done at the last quarter of the year.

Part 1 of my Otaku update will be for the cosplayers that made the event a success! And to start, I'll introduce first my personal pick for the best cosplayer on the event...

My Hot Toys Iron Man 2 Hauls!!

Well, I'm sure glad I still made it!! Thanks to Laykan or Lestat for my Hot Toys Iron Man Mark 4 and War Machine. It was really one hell of an experience since my phone just died out on me and sir Lestat was already waiting for me just outside Jollibee (Robinsons branch) and I was afraid I won't be able to make the deal... Darn, I was even late for about 30 minutes or so.. tsk tsk tsk.. :'( Thank goodness that before the battery on my phone went empty, I was still able to give him a clue as to what I was wearing, and that Lestat and his wife, together with two other collectors opted to eat lunch just across the meeting place.

My second Gunpla Addiction Cebu EB

Hi guys!! It has been a really long time since I had an EB with other members of GAC (Gundam Addiction Cebu). If my memory serves me right, the last one I had was way back in 2009 when we need to plan things for display on the upcoming Otaku event back then. Now, Otaku 2011 is coming up this February 5 and we really need to plan things out... and so another EB was held just recently... or just last Saturday.

Next Star Hobby Store now in Cebu!!

Hi guys!! This is a great news for all Cebuanos out there who have been searching for a good and reliable source for collectibles locally- another store has opened! Next Star Hobby Store, owned by Sir Francis Sy, has officially opened about a week or so ago. His store was actually located in Manila but later closed to rental concerns and as well as several competitors. Now, it's here providing a big help to us Cebuanos. I've known some good stores providing our needs but a few closed due to some reasons. Here are some of the stores where you can actually find good quality toys:

Hobby Shaft (located in Banilad Town Center)
Toyphilia (located near Myra's Pennsione) - already closed
Tamiya (Ayala Center Cebu)
Play to Learn (Ayala Center Cebu)

Since most of the toy stores here in Cebu are at the malls, expect prices to be high since they're paying for rent and such- and that is why some Cebuanos either get their items from Manila or directly from suppliers outside the country. Well, guess how Sir Francis set up his store- I should say it's just a simple house if you're looking at it from the outside. Next Star is located at Holy Family Village 1, Banilad, Mandaue City. It's just near the guard house. Sometimes, the guard will be the ones to contact Sir Francis, or his proxy- Hubert. Prices are also reasonable since the rent is not as much as the cost would be when putting up a store in either SM or Ayala... or whichever mall possible.

Let me just share some pics I got when I visited his store earlier though I apologize with the quality of the pictures since I was in a hurry when taking them... tsk tsk.. :p

I've talked with the owner during my second visit at his store and he's planning to add more cabinets and items. Woah! I can't wait to back!! Hehehe. Anyways, some items found on his store are as follows:

Here's Redeemer version 2 (black colored) from Spawn.What attracted me was the original version of redeemer- light blue body with white wings but since its rare nowadays, I opted to go with the black version. Anyways, it looks good with the black and gold color combination- so it's still a win for me! Woot!! :)

My Marvel Silver Surfer Model Kit

It's been a difficult decision to let go of this figure since it was the very first marvel fig I got and the seller overcharged me for around Php 2,000 but when I checked the figure online- I found someone selling it on eBay for just Php 400. Waaaahh!! So that's the reason why it has been with me for so long now even though I have sold most of my Marvel collection way back 2008.

Now, I decided to let this go and before that- just want to take a pic of him for the last time. :D

My 1/100 NG Aegis Gundam

I really love this melee fighter!! I even kept on repeating the episode 30 of the Gundam Seed series when Athrun and Kira fought with each other.. Aegis was really cool when it dashes towards aile strike even with losing its left arm... Pure Awesomeness!! Haha.. wooooo!! Heheheh. :p

Panel lines, custom decals, and top coat were applied to the kit.

My 1/100 NG Virtue

Here's another work of mine which was not "really" finished. I tried painting the kit and for sometime got lazy, and a very few parts were left unpainted.. tsk tsk.

I've also been inactive for quite a while now on some communities and when I visited GT forums and viewed my thread, I found out that the WIP on this kit was way back October 4, 2008. Mahn! I just noticed that it has been this long since my last painting session... waaahhh!! I need to get back on track one of these days!!

Well, this mech appeared on the Gundam Seed series and the reason why I liked it is due to the fact of its bad-ass pilot- Raww Le Klueze. Hehehe... Panel lines, custom decals, and top coat has been applied to the kit.

Here's one of the mechs piloted by my favorite Athrun Zala. Hehe. Still the same application with the other kits- panel lines, custom decals, and top coat... the sad thing is I accidentally dropped this kit when cleaning the cab and looked what happened to the v-fin, got broken and I'm missing the other part of it now... tsk tsk

Here's the suit with the cloacking ability on the Gundam Seed series- Blitz. I like how this turned out as a kit, still- panels, custom decals, and top coat were applied on the kit.

Here's one of many Gundams I like in Gundam Seed series, Gundam Buster. Aside from cleanly snap building the kit- panel lines, custom decals, a top coat has been applied to it. I find this neat for a NG kit. Hehehehe..
